Silviniaco Conti Betting
Silviniaco Conti is a multiple Grade 1-winning horse trained by Paul Nicholls, who is bidding for glory in the 2016 Grand National, which takes place at Aintree on April 9, as he aims to add this prestigious prize to a CV that already consists of two King George VI Chase victories and a host of other top successes.
- 20th February 2016 - Ascot - Ascot Chase - 2m, 5f 8y - 1st
- 26th December 2015 - Kempton Park - King George VI Chase - 3m - PU
- 21st November 2015 - Haydock Park - Betfair Chase - 3m - 2nd
- 2nd November 2015 - Kempton Park - Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle - 2m, 5f - 2nd
Silviniaco Conti has been one of the star British staying chasers for the last couple of seasons, but having competed in Cheltenham Gold Cups earlier in his career, he will now line up for his first crack at the Grand National at Aintree, and has to be one of the major players in the higher echelons of the handicap.
A multiple Grade 1 winner, this Paul Nicholls-trained ten-year-old started the season over hurdles, where he was a creditable second at Kempton Park, while he was next seen chasing home Cue Card in the Betfair Chase at Haydock Park in November, before he disappointed on a return to Kempton on Boxing Day, when he was pulled up when bidding for a third King George VI Chase victory.
However, he bounced back to form on his last start, as he routed his rivals in the Ascot Chase in February, and if he was to head to Aintree in the same form, and he takes a liking to the National fences, then he is one of the class acts of the race and has to be given huge consideration.

VERDICT: A multiple Grade 1 winner who sparkled at Ascot last time out, Silviniaco Conti has a fine record at Aintree, and if he takes to the National fences then he will be a leading contender for what is a race jam-packed with quality, and off joint top-weight he can figure.
