Onenightinvienna Betting

Onenightinvienna is a novice chaser trained by Philip Hobbs who is set to run in the 2016 Crabbie's Grand National at Aintree on April 9, and could be one of the surprise packages of the race should he be able to get into a rhythm over his fences and could be a horse potentially ahead of the handicapper.

Season Form:

  • 20th February 2016 - Ascot - Reynoldstown Novices' Chase - 2m, 7f - 5th
  • 25th January, 2016 - Kempton Park - Racing UK Novices' Chase - 3m - 2nd
  • 11th December 2015 - Cheltenham - Harrison James And Hardie Novices' Chase - 3m, 1f - 2nd
  • 22nd November 2015 - Exeter - Higos Novices' Chase - 3m - 1st

Novice chasers are often not seen in the hustle and bustle of a Grand National as their lack of experience over fences can often see them struggle in what is one of the most gruelling races in the entire calendar, but Onenightinvienna will be aiming to show that novice chasers can sparkle in the race and he will line up for trainer Philip Hobbs.

He kicked off the season with a win at Exeter in November, before he chased home subsequent RSA Chase hero Blaklion at Cheltenham, but he was beaten again next time out at Kempton Park in late January, with his next performance arguably his most lacklustre as he could only finish fifth in the Reynoldstown Novices' Chase at Ascot.

VERDICT: His novice status is sure to put off a host of punters, but he has looked a very sound jumper this season, but he will need to put a poor showing behind him at Ascot last time out if he is to stand any chance of figuring here. Tough ask.
