My Will

My Will - 33/1

Ran a great race to be third in the 2009 Grand National, this Paul Nicholls trained 10 year old went off second favourite and looked every bit the winner three fences form home. However he failed to find that final and much needed push at the end of the long Aintree run in and had to be content with third, behind Mon Mome.

Although Paul Nicholls has won every major race in the UK he has so far failed to win the ‘National’ but he will no doubt be hoping for a sufficient improvement in My Will to land the race in 2010.

Grand National Bookmakers Odds Comparison

There is no doubting the class of the horse, he was a very creditable fifth in the Cheltenham Gold Cup behind Kauto Star in the race before the National and before that he ran fifth to Madison Du Berlais in the Hennessey Gold Cup in November 2008. One worrying fact is that he has not actually won a race since November 2006 so punters may well prefer to consider him as an each way prospect rather than him as an outright winner.

Latest Form

Had his first run of the season in the JNWine Champion Chase at Down Royal on 7th November, where he jumped well as usual but did not have enough pace to threaten the winner, The Listener. That said he stayed well, proving that the Grand National distance is more to his liking. Overall it was a very encouraging Grand National Trial. His Grand National odds currently are 33/1
