Katenko is a ten-year-old racehorse trained by Venetia Williams who is set to run in the 2016 Crabbie's Grand National at Aintree on April 9, which will see him have his first run in what is still the world's greatest steeplechase which has yet again attracted a stellar field.

- 19th December 2015 - Ascot - Silver Cup Handicap Chase - 2m, 7f - PU
A former Grade 3 handicap chase winner, Katenko will now venture back into the that division on April 9 as he has his first crack at the Grand National for Venetia Williams, but it's going to be an uphill struggle for a horse that has failed to build on some early promise in his career, and he could find things tough at Aintree.
He has only been seen twice this season and having pulled up in a competitive Ascot event in December, he was then unable to land any sort of blow in the Ultima Handicap Chase at the Cheltenham Festival last month, and while he has dropped in the handicap in recent seasons his lack of form is going to hand him a tough task here.

VERDICT: Out of form in recent seasons, Katenko will need a miracle to land the honours here, and it will be achievement to finish in the top ten.
