
After winning the Challenge Cup Handicap Chase at the 2009 Cheltenham Festival, this John Quinn trained 9 year old became one of the leading fancies to follow up that win by winning the Grand National. At one point he was all the rage in the market, but Quinn pulled him from the race after the horse suffered a stone bruise. He did not race again that season.
This horse for many is the ideal Aintree type, a great jumper with lots of staying power, who has been one of the most consistent handicap chasers around for a couple of years. In 19 races over hurdles and fences, he has only failed to finish once this occured when he was pulled up in the 2007 Scottish Grand National. Of the other eighteen races he has only failed to finish outside the top four on one occasion, when 9th in the 2009 Blue Square Gold Cup.

His other notable performances came in the 2007 Hennessy Gold Cup when he was third behind the great Denman, but he had two other top chasers behind him that day, Knowhere and Madison Du Berlais. He was also 4th behind 2009 Grand National winner, Mon Mome in the 2008 Boylesports.com Chase at Cheltenham.
