2014 Grand National

Richard Newland trained his first Grand National winner in 2014 as Pineau De Re became the sixth French-bred horse to win the Aintree showpiece. The 25/1 shot won the 167th Grand National by five lengths from Philip Hobbs' Balthazar King.

Third place went to the joint-favourite Double Seven, who had been as short as 10/1 with bookmakers before the race. 33/1 chance Alvarao and 16/1 shot Rocky Creek finished fourth and fifth respectively.
