Always given a chance in the betting, 16/1 shot, Amberleigh House just stayed and stayed and proved too strong for his rivals on the long run in, winning by three lengths from the Jonjo O'Neill trained, Clan Royal, with Lord Atterbury a further couple of lengths back in third. These three were miles clear of the 2003 Grand National winner, Monty's Pass and Spot Thedifference, who were fourth and fifth respectively.
